Life Actuary (Luxembourg)

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated life actuary to join our LUX actuarial team. The role will provide valuable actuarial experience into life insurance and reinsurance business. You will support the day to day tasks of the actuarial team in relation to valuation of reserves (Local GAAP and Solvency II), including the financial reporting process, assumption setting and participating in various actuarial projects both at local or group level. The life actuary will also participate in the continuous due diligence, acquisition, and integration processes of target portfolios. The life actuary will report directly to the Head of Actuarial.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the quarterly closing process including calculation and control of local GAAP reserves, analysis of margins
  • Assist in the production of the quarterly Solvency II valuations (Best estimate, SCR, own funds…)
  • Assist the actuarial team in the preparation of the reinsurance accounting
  • Assist in the preparation of group and regulatory disclosures and reports
  • Assist with the production of the annual experience investigations (biometric experience, expense reserves…),  and the recommendations of actuarial assumptions
  • Assist with business planning and stress testing processes
  • Assist with the annual expense reserve process
  • Assist in the preparation of the actuarial function report, and SFCR / RSR
  • Support the risk team with the ORSA process and quantitative analyses
  •  Provide actuarial support to other teams, particularly Finance, Investments and Risk
Role Requirements
  • Master degree in actuarial science, with an actuarial qualification
  • Working experience with Prophet is an asset
  • Experience from 5 years within an insurance / Reinsurance company or consulting company
  • Solvency II experience is mandatory
  • Fluent in English, French is an asset
  • Effective communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Dynamic team player able to collaborate and share with other colleagues
  • Curious with an appetite to learn
  • Energetic and passionate with a positive attitude and solution oriented
  • Willing to accept a variety of challenging technical and non-technical matters
  • Be both flexible and adaptable to a changing environment, while having the ability to prioritize work efficiently and effectively
