System Test Analyst (FTC 12-month)

About the role
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Test Lead, the System Test Analyst for Monument International is a key role in supporting the business by delivering solutions that further automate our policyholder operations by driving efficiencies and enabling us to provide excellent customer service.  The role requires an individual with testing experience and knowledge of life administration operational processes.  Attention to detail and clear communication are key and the role holders drive should be a collaborative approach by working as part of a team to meet challenging project deliverables.
Responsibilities
  • To work closely with the Business Analysts to fully understand the business requirements before embarking on the system testing journey
  • Analyse the business requirements to produce detailed test plans
  • Use strong analytical reasoning to formulate test conditions
  • Work with the functional teams to understand current processes and the impact of change
  • Apply requisite methodology in systems testing to ensure the successful implementation of robust systems 
  • When a system bug is identified, provide a detailed synopsis of the issue 
  • Work with system developers to develop and deliver functionality that meets the needs of the business (with a focus on efficiency and automation)
  • Liaise with system developers to determine the best course of action to correct system bugs, address change requests and obtain ad-hoc advice
  • Assist in assessing the impact of new acquisitions on existing systems and business processes
  • Assist in completing system change documentation for use by developers
  • Support the system migration work required to integrate acquired business 
  • Analyse data from legacy systems, test and implement migration solutions
  • Gather business requirements and produce detailed requirement documents for small enhancements
  • Provide user training, advise on procedural changes and follow up with post implementation support with the functional teams impacted by change
  • Prioritise work to allow an efficient work cycle
  • Support all system users via the helpdesk facility; provide ad-hoc training where necessary 
Role Requirements
  • Experienced in testing life administration and/or fund administration systems
  • A sound knowledge of testing methodologies 
  • The ability to construct, manage and execute effective test plans
  • Experienced in problem solving, analysing, and troubleshooting during the testing life cycle 
  • A good understanding of the investment/unit linked policy lifecycle
  • Familiarity with the policy administration process
  • Able to provide clear and concise instructions whilst having the patience to train others
  • Good communicator with external stakeholders as well as internal stakeholders and colleagues
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritise work efficiently and effectively
  • Eager to learn and share knowledge, flexible and open-minded; and
  • A team player, who is energetic, passionate, and methodical with a positive attitude
  • Previous experience of working with Jira and related products desirable
  • Achieved or working towards ISTQB Software Testing Foundation level exam
