About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a part-qualified Financial Accountant within our Finance team. As Assistant Financial Accountant, you will report directly to the Senior Financial Accountant and will be responsible for various reconciliation and reporting processes ensuring financial controls are operating efficiently along with assisting in the quarter end close for local and group reporting within the timeframes allowed. Responsibilities
  • Reviewing bank balances and assist in liquidity management.
  • Journal preparation & general ledger reconciliation 
  • Assist with the day to day processes including bank & intercompany reconciliation.
  • Participation in quarter end ledger close process for local and group reporting within agreed timeframes including the reconciliation of relevant balance sheet accounts.
  • Involvement in the external audit process.
  • Help to maintain general ledger including supporting documents & controls.
  • Ensuring financial controls are operating efficiently with all reconciliations completed within agreed timeframes.
  • Participate in ad hoc duties and projects as they present within the team.
Role Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Part-qualified ACCA, CIMA, CPA or equivalent certification.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry (preferably insurance).
  • Be efficient, with excellent attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in MS Dynamics or SUN would be an advantage.
